Dear Abby,
Prom is almost here and I’m a part of two friend groups that don’t get along. I know I can’t invite them all to my house and I know I’ll offend some people if I pick a friend group. I also don’t want to feel left out or regret not going to someone’s house. I’ve already talked about plans with both groups but now I have to pick one. What can I do to fix this and keep everyone happy?
From, Prom Princess
Dear Prom Princess,
This is a very tricky situation you’re in. Especially if you feel as if you can’t bring them all together as one large group. You have many options to choose from that allow you to not pick a group. Make close friends feel special by scheduling appointments to get your nails and hair done together on the day of prom. With your other group of friends, you can plan a “getting ready party” to get dressed and apply makeup. You could also pick a group to have dinner with before the party. Remember to take pictures at each event so you can hold onto these memories. During the dance, your best bet is to bounce back and forth between each group so you can make memories with each of them. Hopefully, your friends can keep an open mind while you split time between both groups. Having a conversation with them beforehand about your plan could help them understand better. Now buckle your high heels and slap on some lip gloss because you’ve got quite the party to plan for!
Sincerely, Abby
