In a mix of campaign posters, emails, and spirited videos, CVHS recently witnessed its class elections. When students cast their votes on April 24th, anticipation was high as the results were announced, revealing the future faces of student leadership.
ASB (Associated Student Body): At the forefront of the student government stands ASB, representing the voice of our student body. In an unopposed run, Alex Gough and Zoe DeAmicis secured the ASB presidency, boasting an impressive track record as Gough is a three-time class president and our Crier Editor-in-Chief, while DeAmicis is also our Student Representative to the School Board. Together, they will oversee various student positions, meet with the Principal monthly, organize elections, and serve as the official ambassadors of Crescent Valley High School.
Upcoming Senior Class: For the class of ‘25, Lucy Reinhart and Althea Gdontakis-Pos emerged triumphant as co-presidents, where they will be focusing their efforts on being spokespersons for the senior class, preside over all senior meetings, be responsible for senior class fund-raising, and help with graduation activities, including: senior class gift, senior class sunrise/sunset, and organize future class reunions. Competing for this esteemed role were Keller Evans and Annikka Howe, as well as Sam Hardy and Abe Tsai, whose dedication to serving their classmates did not go unnoticed.
Upcoming Junior Class: Meanwhile, the class of ‘26 also saw an unopposed victory for David Wang and Patrick Hower. Wang, current sophomore class president, and Hower, past freshman class president, bring valuable experience to the table as they prepare to organize next year’s CV Prom and represent the interests of their class peers.
Upcoming Sophomore Class: In a surprising turn of events, the class of ‘27 faces a runoff election between Clarence Fernando and Ella Nguyen, and Kiera Lin and Natalie Yong happening on April 30th. This unexpected twist in the election presents a challenging decision for freshmen, who must carefully consider their vote. Among the candidates who missed the runoff were Lily Vaughn and Laura Chen, as well as Valeria Rice and Alison Li. Once elected, the sophomore class presidents will be in charge of organizing next year’s CV Talent show, a very important fundraiser for the school.
As we bid farewell to the outgoing leaders and welcome the new faces of student government, Crescent Valley High School continues to uphold its tradition of excellence and student empowerment. Incoming freshmen await their turn to participate in the electoral process, with their elections slated for September or October.
